Huge disappointment

I really wish I would have done more research before getting insurance from Nationwide. My dog has a leg injury, 2 partially torn tendons and my expenses are well over $3000. Nationwide said they would only pay $575 which is the max benefit for this condition. Well I looked up the fine print on the policy and that is what it says. However, just the x-rays and ultrasound were close to $1000. So all Nationwide is paying for is to diagnose the problem. They refused to pay for any of the treatment to get my dog better which included injections and physical therapy. I feel that their refusal to pay for my dog's treatment is extremely unethical. I wrote letters and of course got only a form letter back saying that's what the policy says. So now I will be getting insurance from a company with no claim limits. So beware and do thorough research before getting insurance.

My dog, Zoe, is 12 now and has issues it seems popping up too frequently. Nationwide has been good to us so far with east of submission and payment of claims. The financial help benefits us greatly! She's got arthritis, thyroid issues, develops cystitis and UTI occasionally but hopefully no more pancreatitus flareups. Thank you for checking in with us.

i am searching for insurance for our 10 week old jack-chi and i would think with NATIONWIDE being such a well known company that that they would be an obvious 1st round pick but the more research i do the more HORROR story's i hear. I THINK IT IS AN EASY DECISION TO NOT GO WITH NATIONWIDE AND NOW I WILL NEVER USE THEM FOR AUTO OR HOMEOWNERS EITHER AS I CAN IMAGINE THE HORROR I WOULD ENDURE HAD I HAD A CLAIM WITH THEM .sounds to me like they are in a class with THE GENERAL (LOL) .THANKS FOR THE INFO!!!!!

Is there a staff of registered DVMs thereby one can email or phone me telling me if there is any coverage from Nationwide TO COVER :

an IMMUNOTHERAPY USING THE TREATMENT VACCINE FOR CANINE ORAL MELONOMA CALLED Oncept?

I was told by the oncologist that only a oncologist can administer it.. I was quoted THE VACCINE TO BE GIVEN very 2 weeks for 4 visits, then every 6 months.

Per visit will cost me out of pocket $821.60. Then every 6 months.

Please reply ASAP, as the time IS OF ESSENCE. NEEDLESS TO SAY..

Thank you for your review. I'm so sorry to hear about your dog. I am just looking into insurance for my Great Dane and read so many good reviews from Nationwide. Have you found a new insurance company you prefer?
