In my experience with Nationwide, they do anything they can to prevent paying claims and bury you with paperwork in the process.

I'm having the same problems. I've been trying to cancel this insurance for over 2 years now. They won't pay anything or offer any explanation why. I'm furious. I'm going to have to close my checking account to get them to stop taking money out.

This is the biggest rip off and scam in the insurance industry. We paid premiums for nearly 14 years which they kept raising year after year despite our dogs good health and infrequent claims. When we made a claim they found every reason to charge a deductible for the same diagnosis and pay out the bare minimum. You would be better off and save huge amounts of money to just open a savings account while your pet is young. Nationwide is NOT on your side.

I'm here looking to switch due to "Nationwide not being on your side". With having 3 policies for numerous years, you'd think they'd show customer loyalty. They've changed their coverage; in 2014 they covered all of the insulin that I paid for and for 2015 they're denying 5 months worth. It's supposed to cover up to $3K/year for one critical illness and I obviously have to have a chat with them tomorrow during business hours! Switching insurance companies!!!

Had three dogs covered by VPI Nationwide and they constantly wanted more information to pay a claim. I cancelled all three today and will go elsewhere. They did not seem to care.
