My newly adopted dog has been happy and healthy with no issues. Then one day I wake up to a mess in her crate. I take her out and she has a major diarrhea episode with a lot of blood in it. Talk about scary. I took her to the vet and they diagnosed her with HGE, a potentially life threatening condition if not put on supportive care and hospitalized. She had to go the emergency vet and stay there overnight. Luckily she came out of it perfectly ok after a few days but I can't imagine how much more stressful it would have been knowing that the bill was growing bigger every minute she spent at the hospital.
After I got the final invoice from the vet, i simply uploaded the document on my phone from a picture and called the vets that she had been to so that they could submit her history. I then expected the process to take some time and was not sure whether I would somehow come out paying more than i expected due to some fine print i missed. Instead, I was PLEASANTLY surprised. In a few days I received an email that the claim was expected and the insurance covered exactly what they said they would.
