I put in a claim April 5, 2015. Three and a half months later, I still haven't been reimbursed. They claim they are missing paperwork my vet's office has already faxed them twice. This has been a problem with them before. Since the April 5 claim, I went back to VPI for coverage. I also took my dog in for routine vaccinations and her yearly checkup in May, submitted the paperwork and was paid within 2 weeks time. VPI is much less expensive for better coverage and they process their claims quickly and efficiently.

Run from VPI. They do everything based on a benefit schedule. They tell you what they think something would cost. Example, xrays...your vet charges $150 for a couple of xrays. VPI will allow a benefit of up to a certain amount, perhaps $100 (I would have to look at their chart to know for sure), leaving you to pay $50 of that $150. I would not recommend VPI to anyone unless you live in a place with a low cost of living and their prices are in line with the benefit schedule.
