Would not process claim for my rescued dog. Said I needed her medical records from last 2 years. When I said we rescued her from city pound and had no records prior to adoption, they said they wanted vet records from pound. They do not do this. Supervisor said provide these (non existent) record or tough on me. Filing a complaint with state insurance commission BUYER BEWARE and don't rescue a pet.

I am sure you told them up front this is a rescue pet. From that they should have known there would be no prior vet records for two years. I am sorry they wouldn't honor your claims. But I wouldn't discourage people from rescuing a pet. Rescue one, give it love. Establish a medical record for two years after getting one, then get the insurance. Those poor shelter babies have a hard life. Some of them never get rescued and are put to sleep. :'(
That is not the insurance fault, it is yours. You should have read the rules, before starting the insurance. When you bought it, if you would have told them the dog was a rescue, they would have told what to do in order to have them underwriting instate of the 2 years of records.I have insured my rescue girl, without previous records and have had no problems, they have always paid every penny.
