Tess and EPI

Tess is a rescue border collie cross and had a clean bill of health when we adopted her at 3 months old. We decided to get pet insurance and our veterinarian recommended Trupanion. About a year after adoption Tess was diagnosed with Exocrine Pancreatic Insufficiency (EPI) which requires her to have enzymes added to her food. Finding the best diet, medication and dosage for an EPI dog is time consuming and an ongoing challenge as there is no magic formula that fits all cases. The disease is not curable and Tess will need medication for the rest of her life. She is now a happy, healthy, active 5 year old and Trupanion has literally been a life saver for her as my wife and I are both retired and would not be able to afford the medication she needs to stay healthy. Our claims are always settled within 2 or 3 days.
