Out of 10

My pet Sunny, has been rejected for every claim i have filed this whole year! He had an arthritis problem which was not pre-existing and cost alot of money to get it diagnosed and in the end, Embrace said i had to first meet the $500 deductible, then a few other claims which also got rejected because they were considered "pre-existing". Lots of dogs have allergy problems but since it is "pre-existing" is not covered. The medications are expensive... Does the insurance only cover for emergencies only then?

Jennifer, I'm sorry to hear of your experience with your policy. The good news about having a $500 annual deductible is that your premiums are much lower than if you had a $200 a year deductible but then you do have to get over the hurdle of the $500 annual deductible when you do have claims. Hopefully having more money in your pocket from saved premiums helps towards the out of pocket costs. A higher deductible policy will help you should you have higher cost conditions in the year, which can include emergencies, but also many other conditions such as orthopedic issues, cancer, and so on. Hopefully Sunny doesn't have to use is policy for any of these conditions.
