My dog, Pepper, had 'patellar luxation' surgery a few weeks ago. The majority of other pet insurance companies refuse to cover this type of surgery because it is congenital, so I'm happy that a year ago I made the smart decision of joining Pet Plan, because months later, Pepper's leg went lame! You never know when your pet will need help and you'll have to spend 1000's of bucks to do so. I don't know too many people who have that kind of money laying around. We got the surgery pre-approved by Pet Plan. It was a $2500 surgery and being able to have it done while knowing we were covered was a massive relief.

The claim forms are very user-friendly. Customer service is incredible! They actually called me to say that my claim was closed and our check was in the mail, which we received a few days later. It was 2 weeks from the day of the surgery to receiving our check. It really is a clear-cut claims process as long as you follow their simple directions of sending in previous vet records, medical release forms, claims forms, etc.

This isn't a one-time awesome experience, either. We made a claim a few months ago, and again it was an easy experience and we received a check within 2 weeks. When our vet sent in the pre-approval claim form in the evening, I had an email from Pet Plan the following morning saying our surgery was pre-approved. I am so happy I chose Pet Plan, because we have been able to focus on Pepper's recovery without financial worries. I definitely recommend this company.
