I have had three policies with VPI during the past 20 years for my three dogs, two are now deceased. My first dog had more acute treatment needs through her life which were covered and thus made my decision-making quite straightforward. My second dog had a very healthy life until the last six months. I chose palliative care for her catastrophic needs including radiation. From my former experiences with the efficient and predictable processes for insurance claims, I proceeded without much second thought to have palliative treatment that gave additional months for my dog. I have never had to be dispute a claim nor have I been surprised with the reimbursement amount. Payment is exactly as it is detailed in the policy. Now with my third dog, a rescue puppy, I did not delay enrolling again with VPI insurance.
