I have had Pet First Health care since Jan 2008 for 3 dogs (1 died and 1 new one.) The coverage has declined and the cost has risen. It is nothing like my original coverage. Today they denied a claim for one of my dogs for tendonitis.. saying it was a chronic problem and due to Clause #12 not covered. I have had insurance on her since I got her in Sep 2010 at 1 year old in perfect health. She is 4 1/2 year old lab. Here is my claim history on her. 2011 - no claims, 2012 laceration $144 paid, 2013 torn nail, $53 paid. A total of $200 for over 3 years and no claims for any "tendonitis". Also last year before renewal I wanted to change my policy to have a higher per incident/per dog (started at $2500, then changed to $1500, so I wanted to reinstate $2500 per illness/accident. I was told that the underwriters will not let you change your per incident coverage. Kind of flaky but my claims are normally small so I just kept the $1500. I was concerned because costs have risen. Also I got an email saying my same coverage would cost more this year too. A small amount but just another reason to find a better company. I used to rave about PF and recommend it. I cannot endorse them at this time.
