Out of 10

I have 3 small, basically healthy dogs that I insured with PetPlan; my plan included a $200 deductible per dog. One of my dogs developed a problem with his eye while I was on vacation, and the vet I visited away from home told me that he had a scratched cornea and a possible clogged tear duct. We treated with medication, and I told him that I would see my vet at home about the tear duct. The cost was $165, which was applied to my dog's deductible. When I returned home, my vet diagnosed the tear duct problem at another cost of $90. I submitted my claim, and Pet Plan refused to pay as they considered this to be a separate diagnosis. Apparently, Pet Plan makes you pay a $200 deductible for each "condition", not an annual deductible. In addition, customer service per claim is as horrible as any human health insurance policy!! I've been on the phone with them numerous times about one claim, and they just don't seem to get it. Stay away from PetPlan!!

YOU should have read the policy. It is not Petplan's fault that you didn't understand the terms and conditions. I'm not even a customer yet and I can see on their website it is PER illness/injury. You should do your research before giving your money away.

Yes, their policy specifically states that the deductible is per condition, it's not an annual deductible. I chose very carefully when when choosing PetPlan and I was very aware that it's per condition, not per body part or per year.
