Last year, Sophie, my 6 year old Pomeranian started limping right before our big move from Texas to California. Stressed about the move and now worried about my fur-child, I knew Soph needed to be seen immediately! Her regular Vet ensured that it was a luxating patella, which is common in Pomeranians, but to keep an eye if the limping persists. Sure enough, as soon as we arrived to California, it had gotten to the point that Soph wasn't even using her left hind leg at all. I took her in for X-rays and next I'm scheduling Soph for surgery later that week. Everything had happened so fast!
Four months post-surgery - Sophie was doing okay, but still not using her left hind leg. It broke my heart, I just wanted my fur-child back to her happy self. I had Soph taken in for Physical Therapy 2 times a week for 2 months. With a lot of time and a lot of patience, Soph is finally using her left hind leg now.
It has been a long process, but I am thankful Sophie is doing better now. Thanks to Embrace, their insurance coverage has been able to make all of this possible for Sophie!
