I had Pet Plan insurance for my two English Bulldogs and filed several claims over a year. Pet Plan never once paid any part of a claim!! I bought the 'Best' policy with the highest coverage which cost me $94 per month for the two dogs and never received reimbursement for anything. First, make sure you understand that the deductable is per condition - meaning that if your pet goes to the vet for 3 different conditions then any deductable from your last claim does not carry over to the next claim. The visits I had were in excess of $300 to $400 each and by the time they wittled down the 'noncovered expenses' the deductable was never met. One of my dogs had raging ear infections and had cultures, antibiotics, ear drops, and medicated cleansing cloths - the claim was denied because, "allergies are considered a pre-existing condition" (this was a $414 claim). I called and told them I wanted the case reviewed again because it was clearly an infection and not an allergy - the girl on the phone said she would ask that it be re-evaluated per my request. It was never reviewed and I never heard back from them. That is when I cancelled my policies. After spending about $1000 in premiums, I never got back a dime in claims - and there were many! I would have been better off without the insurance - it was a wasted expense!
