We enrolled our beagle, Jed, in Embrace about 2 years ago after he had already had some minor health issues and we realized that we simply could not afford to pay for any major issues that might arise over time. At the time we debated whether or not the premiums were cost effective. There is no more debate any longer! Jed recently became very sick and required gall bladder surgery. The decision to go ahead with live-saving care rested on the hope that Embrace would actually cover 80% of the cost after the $1000 deductible was met as advertised in the plan we chose. Over the course of 8 days we spent over $8,000 in veterinary care.
Embrace reimbursed almost $6,000.
Our vet told us afterward that most dogs he has seen who were as sick as Jed usually die. Jed was lethargic, jaundiced, and unable to keep down food or water prior to his surgery. Post surgery care required another 5 days in the pet hospital before he was ready to come home.
Three weeks later, Jed is back to his usual happy, energetic beagle self.
Embrace pet insurance was the best decision we made.
