LIARS!!!

I called in to get pet insurance because my dog started limping. I asked the woman on the phone "how soon my coverage would start?" and she said "24 hours".
My response "good because he started limping and I wanted to get him checked right away..." ..."are you sure he will be covered if I bring him in tomorrow?"

Her response - "YES"

I took him in for xrays and $697 later we discovered that he has acute hip dysplasia on March 4th. Submitted the claim form May 9th and called in June 5th to see what the hell was taking so long.

The woman on the phone told me that there is a 14 DAY CLAIM PERIOD!!!!! WTF!? and that the $697 would not be reimbursed and he would not be covered for ANY FUTURE hip problems!!!

He's not even two years old and we are going to be stuck with making a hard decision. Hip surgery is $8,000 to $10,000.

I am disgusted that I was lied to and will be writing on as many forms, walls, blogs, social media etc. that I can, about how terrible this experience has been to warn people from making the same mistake, trusting your company.

What insurance (any type) covers pre-existing conditions? None. It's like getting into a car accident and then getting insurance to cover the damages. I'm sorry you were misled but it's common sense.

did you read the policy at all? I have yet to find one that covers pre-existing problems. sorry your dog is ill but you really should do your research better

No pet insurance company covers pre existing conditions. you were probably misunderstood or have select hearing, because they wouldn't tell you something is covered when it is fully not. on top of that, they can't guarantee coverage over the phone, so where you apparently asked if something was covered, they could not say yes. they may have said coverage begins tomorrow, however in their checklist when they sell a policy they explain pre existing conditions aren't covered. i know this because i had my last pet insured with them. no offense but those things you are saying don't really seem accurate
