I thought the wellness & Illness were two different claims. He had his wellness check up a few months ago. This claim was due to sickness,Poor boy was throwing up & crying as if in pain,Could you please explain difference in the two types,Meaning Illness & wellness.I have always been happy with this insurance just not sure of the difference between the two now.I've never used the illness plan before.
Thank you Betty Grauer

Thank you for your question Betty. Wellness is for the planned visits for routine care such as vaccinations, check ups, teeth cleanings, spay/neuter, and so on. Illness is for the unexpected issues such as vomiting. There sometimes can be confusion if the claim form comes in marked as wellness and has no diagnosis but is for an illness. We process it as instructed. Does that help? I'll take a look at your last claims to see if we didn't process as instructed.

Betty, I took a look and see that we processed your recent claim as an illness claim for the gastrenteritis as indicated on the claim form but since there was also some pet toothpaste on the invoice, we set up a wellness claim too and covered that there as well. Hopefully that clarifies your recent claim.

The Insurance is for sickness and accidents. The Wellness are for things to take care of your animal such as: flea and tick prevention, nail clippings and dental work...The insurance part is only for when your animal get sucks like vomiting and pain. Also, if accidents like if your animal gets attacked by another animal or gets ran over. I got both. I pay to use up to $400 on the Wellness which will be very useful!
