Gastric Torsion- the ultimate medical emergency

On a visit to family our 6 year old German Shepherd started to act very strange. After a friend had lost her GS to bloat-gastric torsion, we became educated on the signs! My worst nightmare - everything pointed to bloat. I knew we had very little time.

He was rushed to Quakertown Veterinary Clinic and within 20 minutes they confirmed gastric torsion and he was scheduled for surgery. Just an FYI, this clinic is top notch!

I have had PetPlan insurance on Timber since he was a puppy. He has been in good health and has not needed any medical procedures.

It was a blessing to know that I had coverage with his pet insurance since we were looking at a $3,000 plus bill.

Quakertown Veterinary Clinic submitted his paperwork and worked with PetPlan staff when additional information was requested. Since this was my very first claim they required additional information from the clinic and his regular vet.

Petplan processed his claim in a timely, efficient manner and kept me information via email.

Thank you Quakertown Veterinary Clinic and Petplan Staff.

Timber his doing great and back to his old self!
