Hi Megan,
We are truly sorry that you had a negative experience with one of our contracted vets. Pet Assure has been working with veterinarians for 18 years and is proud that over 4,800 vets in the USA honor the Pet Assure card. If a veterinary practice is listed on our site as participating, it means they have signed a contract with us. However, sometimes a signed practice may tell a caller that they are not part of our network. Usually this happens when a practice is under new ownership or there is new front-office staff that is not familiar with Pet Assure. In those cases, we immediately contact that practice to straighten things out. Please call or email us with the details so that we can straighten out the issue you had. Thank you.

We update our list of veterinary practices daily and provide the list on our website for customers to see who participates in their area before signing up. If your cancellation request was within our 45 day trial period then our customer care team can help process a refund for you. They can be reached at 888-789-7387.

My understanding is that pet insurance is on a reimburse basis, so why do you need to even tell your vet you have insurance? Since you have to pay the bill and submit for reimbursement, why would there be a different scale for a pet who is insured over one who is not?

I noted that vets inflate their prices or have two different price brackets. When you tell them you have a pet assure card, they will give you a discount, but from a higher price range for the same procedure, which at the end equals the same price as if you did not have anything at all.
