Hello, I would not recommend Healthy Paws pet insurance. I had read their policy and also called to ask questions if certain conditions were covered. Their reps told me things like ear infections, etc. were covered, but now that I am putting in a claim for a facial fold infection they are denying it saying it is due to allergies. They also say that since my dog is overweight they won't cover things related to that. Well, they can link most things to being overweight so basically I have not coverage for my dog that I have been paying premiums on for years now.

Rebecca,
We’re sorry for any confusion or frustration about our policy. Claim decisions are based off of your pet’s medical records and the clinical signs or symptoms that are noted by your veterinarian. There is a difference in a one time curable incident and something that reoccurs or is chronic. Since Indiana has been dealing with multiple skin fold infection issues prior to enrollment, we were unable to cover the recent care and treatment related to it.

When processing future claims, our claims determination is based solely off of the veterinarian's notations in your pet’s medical records. If any condition was related to clinical signs or symptoms noted prior to enrollment or during the waiting period it would not be covered. However, any new conditions unrelated to pre-existing signs or symptoms would be covered.

Give big hugs to Indiana, Chester, Tigger and Annabelle for us!
