up sell up sell. I get it, this is how expensive human treatments would be if we didn't have health insurance. I used to not worry at all about going to Vetsmart but now that it's Banfield it's like taking your car in to the shop. What will they find and ding you with? Our cat died of complications from diabetes, which cost us almost $1000 to diagnose and begin treatment for between tests, insulin, follow up tests etc. She seems to be doing fine and then stops eating. We take her in and they tell us she's "in crisis" and she needs to go to the the emergency vet which is $400 just to walk in the door. $1300 she dies anyway. We call them to cancel the wellness plan and are told we need to pay them an additional $180 to end the plan. After 10 years of monthly debit payments etc we have to pay them MORE????
