My best friend(a dog)had to be euthanized on 9/23/13. Both of my dogs have been on a Banfield wellness plan for more than 6 years. I do not have any problems with the local Banfield Hospital although most of the time they would see a different vet and that was disturbing. I never complained about their fees or services until yesterday, 10/1/13. I tried to cancel the plan for the dog who died and was told he had to stay on the plan for another 10 month or pay off the plan in full. Of course, when I dug up the enrollment document it stated so. In reading the convoluted "Additional Terms", it became obvious that they were totally self-serving. Not only was I never was told by the person selling the plan, that it would renew automatically without receiving any notice or that you can't really cancel. Now I'm in a bind, should I keep the dead dog on the 'wellness plan' and take his ashes to see the vet, pay it off or stop payment at the bank. In any event, the corporate office is despicable and they also don't like to answer the phone make you wait.
