Definitely NOT WORTH IT!

Out of 10

Recently, I adopted 2 cats from the humane society, and was told that I would have pet insurance coverage with PetCare. Both of the cats had been treated at the humane society previous to their adoption, and were immediately sick upon getting them home. I had a veterinarian look at them, and ended up paying over $600 for their treatments. When I went to make a claim with PetCare, I would be making long distance phone calls, and be put on hold for an extended period of time (sometimes 45 minutes), just to find out what the policy numbers where that we assigned to the cats. Once I made the claim for the cats, I was told that it was not going to be covered by the PetCare plan (either because it was a "pre-existing conditions" or that the coverage that I was given (by the humane society) did not cover their issues. Needless to say, PETCARE SUCKS!

Did you read your terms and conditions of the FREE gift that was provided to you? It clearly states that there are 10 conditions covered with it. It doesn't cover anything preventative or routine (that's our job as pet owners to take care of that). it's only for very specific conditions. It doesn't cover pre existing conditions (just like auto insurance... can you go get in a car accident and then go buy insurance for it? no, definitely not). There's a 2 day waiting period after the adoption date, most insurance policies have a waiting period of some sort. I was given the gift of insurance for my 2 dogs I adopted a few weeks ago and I was given everything back after the $75 deductible. We were lucky to be given something to help with vet costs. I also don't understand how it was long distance to you when the phone number is a 1-800 number? Lol...They also offer different policies that cover ALL conditions, so I don't know why you are mad that the FREE one you were given didn't cover your pre existing conditions, or conditions that weren't even eligible under it? Lol...
