Horrible experience --- I had to cancel my policy with VPI. Being a new dog owner, I chose the insurance company because it was a benefit provider offered by my employer. My dog fractured 2 bones in her paw and had a splint for 3 months now. She is a chihuahua so her leg is so small that the bones took a long time to heal. She has had to re-splint her leg 4 times now. I didn't realize that there was a benefit cap of only $695 for a bone fracture, until after my claims were denied. Needless to say, I've spent more than double the maximum allowed. I looked at other insurance companies and they don't have a cap on a specific injury, only an annual maximum. I have switch over to that company. They denied one claim that was submitted saying that it was a pre-existing injury. If they would have read the medical history that was sent to them they would know that it was a different leg!! Horrible service!
