I rescued Cosette 2 1/2 years ago. She is basically a healthy toy poodle now 5 1/2 years old, but knowing that illnesses do strike animals as well as humans, I decided that pet insurance would be the best investment I could make. I would never be without health insurance, neither should my dog. I chose VPI and never looked back. Cosette has a propensity for eating things that she should not. This little squirt jumps up on the kitchen counters and grabs whatever she can. As a result, I try to keep the counters clear of any edible objects. She has gotten very ill, vomiting and the runs. I have brought her to the Vet Hospital for each illness, either food related or not. VPI has handled each of my claims in a very professional manner, identical to my human insurance plan. The only problems I ran across were when the veterinarian sent improper forms, ex., one claim form was sent in with no charges listed, the other listed "teeth cleaning" but not the fact that she had three teeth removed and reason why! This took a while to clear up, but clearly not the fault of VPI. I have highly recommended VPI to all my pet owner friends.
