Read the fine print - otherwise great company

Out of 10

Brennen had to have a shunt surgery for her liver to keep her alive. all said and done the cost to us was about $6000; our claim was denied because the doctor determined it was congenital not acute. I figured she had the issue, needed repair and insurance would pay for part of the cost. I had no clue that the insurance only paid for acute diagnosis. My bad.. I always read the fine print now! other than this one bad experience, we have had wonderful response from VPI; they have covered what they said they would and pay timely. I would definitely recommend VPI to cover your pet.
