Unjustly Denied Claim

Pet First is refusing to pay a claim that is covered by my policy. They state that they revised the policy in January 2012 and sent it to me via email. I never received such a revision of my policy.

Deny is the name of Pet First's game. Heartbreaking puppy death - made worse by Pet First's unjust denial.

Do not buy this insurance. Garbage!! Trash!! Rip off.y dog was denied twice for puppy shots that we were told was covered. This is a consumers cluster f$&k. I will not renew!!!!!!!!Feel free to call me 225-571-2405. Oh, and by the way, CKC is worthless too. My papers said Chihuahua. I got a Chiwee. Great dog, but not what was claimed to be. Bottom line, don't cut corners.

PetFirst is trash. They do not pay and it is a consumer rip off.

Ken, your policy was established online and the PetFirst website does NOT state that routine care is covered. Also, your policy packet would have been emailed to you, stating 18 exclusions, with one being routine care.

We experienced the same thing; We could not access our account online and they failed over and over to communicate with us so we could change the PW. We tried over and over to call them. They "say" they sent claim forms March 2013 but we NEVER received them. We paid our own claims for several months thinking they would come. We called then, again, in Nov. saying our pet had died and we needed to have claim forms, we also tried over and over to access online, we finally received the forms mid December. PetFirst requires tons of history from vets, written andalso the invoices, as well as the forms signed before claim sent in. With the Midwest snowstorms and other severe emergencies, this was most difficult and communicated to PetFirst. Yet, they refused payment, that we trusted for care of our dying pet, and would not budge claiming we were "one", then claimed "two" days late with claim received.
We tried for two days to fax them the documents and they would not go through, we emailed with no response, we called with no answer waiting on the phone 25 min. each time then hanging up. They are a joke and should not be representing pets or pet parents. We paid out to them for several years for two dogs with one claim. They raised our premiums possibly 300%, we stopped figuring. We have canceled our other dog and won't use them for our new puppy.

Just go online and research the many negative reviews warning consumers to stay away from PetFirst. We wre now dealing with two other pet insurance companies and they are
amazing. We are treated as family, not a number. All reviews of PetFirst mention Be Aware of Their Fine Print.
