I never understood how valuable pet insurance could be until we got our beagle puppy Lux and decided to get insurance, little did we know how smart that decision was. Lux's issues began before she even turned a year old. She's endured two leg surgeries. One for a torn CCL and another for a luxating patella, the second surgery was just about a year ago and required 12 weeks of physical therapy. She is doing well but it is likely that future surgeries may be needed. She's also had her share of ear infections and recently we have been battling chronic UTI's since December which have resulted in many vet visits, treatments, and tests. Not to mention she has also tested positive for Lyme's disease at her recent wellness check despite the fact that she is vaccinated yearly and gets monthly flea/tick treatment. All this and she is only 3 1/2 years old! All I can say is thank goodness for PetPlan. I never imagined I would have a dog with so many issues at such a young age and with the help of PetPlan we are able to take top notch care of her and make sure she gets the best treatment for all of her issues without extreme worry over how we are going to pay for it. I'm yet to have an issue with any reimbursements of claims, which makes all the stress of having a dog with many issues and the thousands of dollars that have gone into treating her much less stressful. In fact, we ended up putting our other dog on PetPlan insurance as well even though he has been generally healthy.
