I had debated on getting pet insurance in the past but unfortunately had not when Bailey tore her crucible tendon about a year and a half ago. 2 days after the $3000+ surgery I decided I needed to get insurance! Pet plan was the only company that would cover her tearing her other knee-as long as it was over a year after the plan/the other knee (those that have dealt with this know they often will tear the other knee, but usually within a year).
I thought we were out of the clear until a month and a half ago Bailey picked up a slight limp-she had torn her other crucible tendon. This was my first time having to make a claim and it went rather well. Pet Plan was rather quick about processing the whole thing. There was a delay but mostly because one of the vets failed to send records as requested, but after a few phone calls and the records sent the claim was processed the next day. Everything was covered but my deductible and the $45 initial vet visit for diagnosis (the x-rays etc were covered).
Customer service has also been friendly and prompt, both in my initial plan set-up and with my claim.
