My cat Buckey won't eat or drink his water on July 18. Took him to his vet the next day. Vet tested some blood samples and had Buckey x-rayed. He diagnosed Buckey with pancreatitis but he suspects there is more that's going on so he recommended an ultrasound. Ultrasound showed a suspicious growth which could be a tumor in the liver and pancreas area. Exploratory surgery was mentioned but no assurances if this will really help Buckey's condition. We opted not to have the surgery considering his age. We did not want to put him through this ordeal...there was also a chance that he will not make it through surgery.
It was good that we have the pet insurance for Buckey and for our other cat. We know that we've done everything that could be done for him. We did not have to worry too much about the expenses of finding out what was wrong with him.
I filed a claim for the first time on Buckey's policy and was pleasantly suprised of the way my claim was handled. My claim was processed immediately upon receipt and we received the checks within one week.
Buckey passed away on July 31st. I was blessed to have him in my life for more than 17 years and I thanked God for not letting him suffer for long. He took Buckey and I did not have to make the very difficult decision of putting him to sleep. I missed him so much.
