Very Bad Experience All Claims Denied

Out of 10

My newly adopted rescue puppy has had every claim denied and Healthy Paws says it's due to his pre-existing conditions. He had a bit of a cough at his first wellness exam and Healthy Paws has taken the opportunity to lump everything, including a bout of diarrhea, into one diagnosis and not pay. When I asked for more detail on the Explanation of Benefits they were rude and short with me. Barely anything went towards the total deductible. This insurance would be fine if all you need is catastrophic coverage. But there is no wellness coverage. Read carefully before you sign up.

Healthy paws FAQ 's state if you've seen a vet within the previous yr your dog is eligible. My dog went for shots every yr so I hope eligible for illness coverage. After 2 yrs of coverage has developed eyelid lump. Worried now I see on policy dog was supposed to get a "thorough exam" before coverage

I disagree with the service, but very much agree with YOU MUST READY ANY POLICY BEFORE YOU PURCHASE. This company ONLY covers accident, illness, and injury as per there sample policy I read on their webpage. Why would you purchase something without knowing what it covers?

if you need wellness i suggest petsmart/banfield hospital plans those are blessings 28 bucks a month for all wellness and preventitive.. thus you could take a more normal suitable insurance policy with how you have

Because people are stupid and blame their own ignorance on everyone else but themselves. Take some responsibility for your actions. If you can't afford wellness exams then you should never have gotten a pet. Insurance is for saving you hundreds if not thousands on major issues. Stop crying and get a job. Find any other insurance as good as this company. I read details on every one and this was the best by far. And most companies reenroll every year so whatever happened the year before is considered pre existing. Not healthy paws.
