My boxer Bandit was diagnosed with Lymphoma cancer in November 2011. I purchased VPI insurance about 6 months prior to that because a friend of mine spent over $5,000 to have her dog treated for cancer. At that time I never thought Bandit would get cancer, but I figured I would get him insurance just to be safe and provide piece of mind. Unfortunately, 6 months after purchasing the insurance, Bandit got sick. It was the worst day of my life. His medical expenses for chemo and other setbacks along the way ended up being over $7,500. Without VPI I never would have been able to provide him the care he needed and for that, I am so appreciative. VPI was always quick with their claims (usually 2-3 weeks) and if they needed more information like doctors notes, they let you know. It was hard enough watching my beloved friend go through cancer and chemo, without the worry of running up my credit cards or draining my savings. Unfortunately, Bandit lost his battle with lymhoma in August 2012 and I am very saddended but thankful for the 10 additional months I had with him. It wouldn't have been possible without the assistance of VPI....thank you.
