I recommend VPI to all my friends in the market for a new puppy. I have had two dogs covered under the plan and have been very pleased with the coverage and the quick response to my claims. My yellow Lab had two knee surgeries that were expensive. Both were covered under his VPI plan and saved me a lot of money. He was also stung by a bee and had a severe reaction and required off hour emergency care, also covered under VPI. We lost our Lab to bone cancer last year and when I called VPI to find out what coverage would be included for euthanasia, they were so kind and helpful. I also received a condolence card from them. Our current dog, a Cockapoo had not had any major issues, but I like the fact that well care is covered too. Every time I send in a claim for a check up, I get a check in the mail usually within two weeks of mailing the claim. I feel that the well care coverage reduces my premium to about half, as I would be spending that money on vet well care with or without pet insurance. It is worth making a call to VPI prior to getting a new puppy and having the coverage explained, as well as the various options. Having a pet is wonderful, but there are always unforeseen health issue or accidents that can occur and with VPI you are covered for most issues. All in all, I have to say I have been very pleased with VPI and would continue to insure my dogs under their plan. I have actually found VPI to be far superior than most human insurance co
