I was happy with VPI until I had a claim of $800. We brought our dog to the vet and he had symptoms of several things: foreign body ingestion, plant poinsoning and chemical poisoning. It turned out it was foregin body, but VPI would pay nothing toward testing for the plant or chemical poisoning because it was not the primary diagnosis. I feel like the schedule of benefits is misleading because the benefit schedule does allow for testing for poisoning, but I did not know that the testing would not be reimbursed unless poisoning was confirmed. So, having this pet insurance is better than nothing but it's not what it appears to be.
