I have two rottweilers who are just about 7 years old now and I have had VPI insurance since they were 8 weeks old. A few years back, my male needed a knee replacement and VPI covered just about 75% of the expenses. A few months back, he was diagnosed with cancer. After experiencing this with my prvious rottweiler and putting him through chemo at my own expense (I didn't have insurance on him), I had added the cancer rider to both policies. It has been a wonderful experience, being able to get my "buddy" the chemo he needs and not drain my bank account. The re-imbursement process is so simple and quick. Within three weeks of submitting a claim (which was weekly for a while), I have a check in my hand for 90% of the expense. It is great peace of mind and I would never own any more pets without having insurance and I would never even think to have that insurance with anyone but VPI.
