My young Labrador Ranger developed a lump last fall. After major surgery it was undiagnosed, but he recovered. Recently, the lump returned in the exact same spot! The vet referred us to a surgeon, who immediately recoqnized it as "flank-sinus" syndrome, where a foxtail has been ingested and is traveling around inside my dogs body. He required yet another major surgery, and unfortunately they did not locate the foxtail. Ranger is on long term antibiotice with a "wait and see" disgnosis. He has totally recovered right now, and we hope the lump won't return - if it does we will do wahtever we have to to get him well! Having a foreign body traveling around inside my dog making him sick is a terrible thing to have to live with - but Petplan has been really helpful!
