I have been a VPI member for 7 years ago. I have a Mini-Doxie, which I knew from Day 1 would need back surgery. (Yup, she had it last year). Overall I would say that I have been satisfied with VPI. They are prompt with their payments, information, and informational mailings. I literally do nothing and have never had a problem. After I submitted her bill for back surgery ($4,900) I was so nervous about what i would get back. I ended up getting around $2,000 from VPI which was less than 50%. I think that VPI is very prompt, but does not always pay out enough money. Of course we all want it all paid for, that goes without saying. But less than 50% on back surgery, when I have been a member since I got my dog as a puppy? The "lingo" of why/why not things were covered are practically in a foreign language. BUt I got my money and I got it quickly. They are always helpful on the phone, and easy to get a hold of. Overall pretty satisfied.
