Beware Embrace Pet Insurance GOUGING ON PREMIUMS

I have recommended Embrace Pet Insurance because I've been with them since about 2007 happily, but in the last 2 years they keep making massive increases in our premium, but today I received my new premium amount for May - April 2024-25 and they uprated me for ONE MASTIFF an additional $90.47 per month or $1085.64 for the year! I am now going to be paying $259.17 or $3,110.04 for the year IF I stay with them and do not decide to self-insure at this point. This is outrageous! Bastian just turned 7. I cannot believe this and wanted to warn you all against going with Embrace unless you first check out and compare all the A rated companies to see if you can find a better premium. This pretty much ensures we will no longer be able to afford our beloved Mastiffs any more as we go into retirement in a few years. AGAIN - INCREASES IN PREMIUMS THIS HIGH ARE SIMPLE PRICE GOUGING.

Our cat was ill. Premium doubled afterwards

Our cat was ill. we had her treated to a tune of about 5k. Insurance claims were filed. Extra info was requested by Embrace and it was provided. We got our renewal notice a short while afterwards and our premium had basically doubled. We cancelled.

I am so grateful to Embrace

I am so grateful to Embrace - my little Rosie got very sick and because of Embrace's wonderful and efficient claims process, she is still with me and her sister. She is doing well having received great care that I would not have been able to get for her without Embrace. It's the best decision I made a few years ago!

Unbelievable Rate Hikes

I had no problem with my insurance coverage with Embrace; however, after my first year with them they decided to raise my premium. That, in and of itself, was not the problem. THE FACT THAT THEY DECIDED TO RAISE THE PREMIUMS BY OVER 51% a month was enough to make me cancel my coverage and move to another company. I’ll never use them again.

Placed multiple follow ups

Placed multiple follow ups, in last follow up requested a call to discuss and did not receive a call or email (only an automated email directing me to view claim status) and Ive still yet to receive confirmation or even an update on the pre-certifation submitted by my vet that is associated with the CT scan. Please call me to discuss.

Monthly Cost

$13 – $100, depending on your chosen plan.

Coverage

You have a co-pay of 10%, 20% or 30% after your deductible, depending on your chosen plan. The pay-out amount is based on your actual vet bill.

Payout Limits

Annual limit of $2000, $5000, $10,000 or $15,000.

Deductible

Annual deductible options from $100 – $1,000.

Age Limits

Pet must be at least 6 weeks old to enroll. New pets over 14 are eligible for accident-only coverage. Once enrolled, pets can stay insured regardless of age.

Waiting Period

There is a two-week illness waiting period, which begins on your policies’ effective date. Orthopedic conditions have additional Waiting or exclusion periods that vary by state.

Exclusions

Pre-existing conditions are not covered. Hereditary and congenital conditions are covered if they have not been diagnosed or suspected before the policy becomes active. Main plan covers alternative treatments such as chiropractic, acupuncture and homeopathic when provided by a licensed veterinarian. Optional wellness and prescription drug plans are available for an additional cost.
