I just got notice that the underwriter for 24 pet watch changed and so have the options they will be offering. According to them the comparable option to what I have now will more than double my monthly rate to $119.94/month. I have tried three different times to call but put on hold well over 15 minutes each time before hanging up. I even called at 6AM (PST) and they are still too busy to answer. I used the Live Chat option on their site and got through to someone right away but was told they can only do that over the phone.
When I filed a claim a couple months back they stated they were behind and it would take a couple months to pay my claim.
Very poor customer service.

Good, but expensive
My labrador was covered for the last 5 years with QuickCare Gold. Over this time she had only a couple of minor emergencies and they paid, minus the $50 deductible right away. By the way, each time I put in a claim, they would call to acknowledge receiving the claim and call again when it was processed and again when the check is sent. Very nice! Her last illness required major surgery, drugs and hospitalization for a week. I was surprised that they covered all but the (at the time) 10% co-pay. Unfortunately this quickly ate up the $3000 per illness maximum. At the same time, the rates, deductibles and co-pays rose quite a bit. Hershey lost her fight with cancer, but we have a new puppy now. I may try another company for this new lab.

Pet Care - any "care" program is like no care
I have had my first quick care program since 2003. I have not had many claims. As our pet family grew,I added on three other pets ( two more dogs and one cat). One of my dogs had fractured a tooth several months ago. I called petcare to see what they would do. They told me that " You have no physical proof that this is an accident, therefore do not bother filing a claim". I mentioned this to the attending vet that had to extract his tooth in four pieces He agrred that this was definatley an accident and molars don't get fractured like that that easily. I have been very bothered by this bitter feeling it has left in my stomach ever since. I am in the process of finding another provider for my animals. When something goes wrong, this company makes excuses. Anyone looking for a good, solid and caring pet insurance provider, PetCare is not it; you'd be better off giving your money to charity.

I paid into the policy for two years for my dog and the first time I put in a claim they claimed that they didn't receive my claim form eventhough when I faxed it I got confirmation of it going through. When I tried to get in touch with them I left message after message and no one called me back. When I moved to Canada from the States I need to switch policies and was told someone would call me to discuss it and it's already been over a month and no one has called. I'm shopping around for another insurance company.

Don't get this insurance!
We've had this insurance for 3 yrs and the first claim we submitted was approved and paid in a timely manner, however we had an emergency surgery for our dog, that was covered and have been waiting so far 6 months for reimbursement. We keep calling and getting excuse after excuse as to the delay. Cancelling and fighting them now.
