Customer Review for Pet Assure
|
| 2/10 not insurance |
| When researching pet insurance, I came across Pet Assure. I couldn't beleive their low rates so I made sure to do my research. This is not insurance, but a discount plan. You show a card to the vet and you receive an instant discount on services. Catch is, there are only certain vets you can go to. In my area there is only 1 nearby. I decided to stop by the vet clinic before I joined. It was run down, dirty, and out dated. No thank you. I decided to go with a real insurance company. I may have to pay up front, but I get 90% of my expenses back. And I get to go to any vet, including ER. You get what you pay for. |

The only "approved" vet in my zip code area does operates a clean clinic but the problem is that knowing that Pet Assure clients are to receive a "discount" for the services and medication, the rates are "adjusted" up to erase whatever "discount" Pet Assure program requires. Here is a specific example: Flea medication (pills) that I can obtain from my present Vet for $34. The Pet Assure "approved" vet charges $48 for Exactly the same strength and brand of flea pills. You take 25% off $48. and you are paying $36. Even with the "discount" the "approved" vet charges $2.00 more that my vet. I also check with another local vet-clinic for the same product and again their price was $34. Lesson Learned: Buyer Beware - Investigate before you buy | | | |
