8/10 CCL surgery for our 1 1/2 year old dog, 5/30/2007

Willie is a 2 year old lab/boxer mix. When he turned a year old, I decided to get insurance for him because I figured he would hurt himself running/chasing/and playing with other dogs since he doesn't seem to care much for his well being. PetPlan had pretty good rates for him, so I chose them. 6 months later, he tore his CCL while catching a frisbee. I was worried that PetPlan would not cover this injury since I had read that many pet insurance companies would not cover this type of injury, but when I called them, they said no problem. My first claim to PetPlan was the orthopedic consult. I had more trouble getting the vets to send in the right paperwork, and PetPlan even tried to help me. The customer service lady was great. When I got the check from PetPlan, the amount was less than what I should have been reimbursed. When I called PetPlan, they immediately recognized the error and sent the remaining amount. The second claim to PetPlan was the surgery -> TPLO. Once again, I had more trouble with the vet turning in the proper paper work. But, once that was done, PetPlan reimbursed me for exactly the right amount per the plan. Since the surgery check was substantially larger, it took a longer time for me to get the check, but they did come through. I would still be in some serious debt without this insurance, and despite the fact that I am sure my rates will go up after this claim (Willie has a good chance of tearing his other CCL since the first one tore at such a young age), I will be sticking with PetPlan. By the way, 4 months after surgery, Willie is doing great; he is running with wild abandon once again.

I can't recommend PetPlan USA enough! I am a first-time dog owner of an adorable Cavalier King Charles Spaniel. Before we purchased Brooklyn, I did a lot of research on insurance companies as I had read that with toy breeds there can be congenital defects. My husband thought I was crazy to spend money on pet insurance. Well, as luck would have it, within less than a year, I was told by my vet that Brooklyn would need not one, but two surgeries for medial luxated patella. Thank goodness I choose a plan when we first brought her home, and thank goodness it was PetPlan USA. The account rep Mike was so helpful and patient, and Debi White has been incredible with follow-up after both surgeries, inquiring about Brooklyn's health, and reimbursement that was so quick, much more so than with traditional insurance. If you own a pet, and are thinking of pet insurance there is no company better than PetPlan USA. You would be foolish to choose any other company.

I have a Norwich Terrier and prior to him I have lost a dog that I loved so much, but due to vet bills and financial circumstances I couldn't help him when he needed to be operated and I had to put him to sleep. So when I got 'Beertje' I decided to do things differently, learning it the hard way. I got pet insurance after carefully reviewing I choose petplan usa, after 2 months I signed up, something happened to Beertje, he got ahold of anti-freeze and I had to rush him to the emergency vet. If I had waited another day they told me there, I would've lost him. I paid them and let them do whatever they needed to do to save his life. After the incident I notified petplan and they were absolutely wonderful, in the way they handled the claim. Even the people at my vet office were suprised how this insurance company handled everything. I filed my claim did the neccesary paperwork, send it over and they gave me a check after 3 weeks. I only had to pay my deductable (I have 0% co insurance) so now I can pay everything back. After receiving the check Andre (my husband) called my claim agent and told her how surpised and satisfied we are. I am from another country (Suriname)and ussualy my experiences when it comes to insurance companies in the US are not very pleasant, but I have not nothing but good things to say about petplan, they are in my opinion the best out there, hands down. I am telling everyone about petplan usa, who want to be responsible pet owners, a small fortune that should be paid if you love your pets, in my case it is worth each and every penny.
