3/10 So-Called "Policie"
| Like the other review, I had my card "declined." Due to it getting stolen and shut down. At the same time I moved housing, so didn't get the memo that my car was having issues. I call to set up another dog of mine on their plan and was informed of the "20" fee, plus the "17" re activate fee, and the 13 dollar per pet. While trying to figure out all these fees, the lady was exceptionally rude, would not let me talk, kept cutting me off and raising her voice at me. I told her she was being rude and I wanted to talk to her manager, who then told me because I recently spoke to her and had to hang up, that I was at fault. She said me hanging up was rude, and I should have called to apologize. This is a BUSINESS lady, not your personal cell phone. You expect too much to have someone call and apologize to you because you requested insane fees. I also asked to have my dogs under my moms name, and was informed that "I am a dishonest person, and would not get a membership because so."
Long story short, Carolina, the manager apparently, told me I would need to pay the whole year for both my dogs, otherwise they wouldn't give me a membership. THEN proceeds to tell me that she will "have to think over my membership." Again, you are not a small business, you are a corporation. Clearly communication is not this companies best policy.
Once you get the membership. DON'T bother talking to the employees. The membership and coverage is decent. Because of them I have the best vet for my d |

1/10 Don't waste your money
I have been a member of UPC for the last six years. Last week, UPC left me a message on Christmas Eve about a problem with my credit card. I was out of town for the holidays and called them back FOUR days later. They informed me that since I had "refused" to call them back, they had already canceled my membership. They wanted to charge me $17 to reinstate the membership as well as $20 because of the card being declined. I spoke to the manager to see if she could waive the $17 reinstatement fee since I had called them back to fix the issue. However, she informed me that since I was a "long-time customer" I should have known better! Really?! I though being a loyal customer might make them eager to keep my business! The manager even went to far as to tell that she was "trying to run a business"! Really?! Seems to me like having paying customers is the most important part of running a business! I was appalled by her rudeness and arrogance and canceled my membership... please do not waste your money on a company who could care less about its' customers.

4/10 Beware Emergency Services
I work nights and came home Sunday morning to my bulldog barely breathing (he had an abcess grow from a foreign object stuck in his gums and partially block his windpipe.) He needed emergency surgery and the closest ememrgency vet covered by UPC was over an hour drive away. Had to take him to a closer vet who isn't on their list of providers. They couldn't help me out. When talking with them on the phone, the customer service was very polite but could offer no resolve. Due to their sevices not being helpful to mine or my pets needs, I asked to cancel only to find that it would cost $30 and I wasn't able to cancel until the following year. They stated that I had only been a member for a year and didn't agree with me when I told them that I had been for almost 6 years and last year was when they automatically renewed my membership. I have used them for medications in the past but my savings were so minimal that it wasn't worth it. The monthly fees I have paid would have paid for all my current bills and then some. Could be a good service if you live within reasonable distance to providers.

4/10 "Policies"
I think this is a fairly good company, especially when if comes to my four legged kids. But, their policies are a little tight when it comes to other things. I had them cancel on me after my card was "declined", well they were the ONLY company out of a handful of other monthly auto-payments coming out of my account. They would not budge for me one bit even after telling them I had proof of my car being ok. THEN they wanted to charge me $20 card decline fee and another $17 for a new sign up fee. BUT, when I call to get my AAA discount it is only for new members. Well, if I am payng a "new fee", where is my discount??? And I added 3 dogs on top of my one that I already had. They are NOT losing ANY money with me... really disappointed....

10/10 Best investment I have ever made for my pet
I joined UPC for healthcare for my cat. UPC was very professional and honest. The cost was unbelievably cheap and I didn't have to hassel with claim forms. My discounts were immediate at the vet. The selection of vets was great. I have never had an issue with billing and they provided me with a directory of other services were I also received a discount. Thank you United Pet Care.

10/10 United Pet Care is better than Pet Insurance
I took a chance on this service thinking it's so cheap is it really worth it? Well, this is one service where they should be charging more money. I've saved over $2500 in the first year with this service. My insurance companies took forever to pay me in the past and with United Pet Care I know exactly what my savings is upfront. They don't have a ton of vets in the program but you can search on their website for a Vet near you. I highly recommend this service to anyone tired of pet insurance or if you just want to save money on your pet care. I'm telling all my friends about United Pet Care, it's the best!

1/10 Beware of unethical practices
I had UPC plan for my 4 cats and after having them on the plan for more than a year. My debit card expired and I was going to drop the plan to find more comperhensive coverage for my cats. Well, they took it upon themselves to change the expiration date of my debit card and continued to bill me for the plan. When I called them, I was told that they do it for most of their customers...Beware
