Banfield is not an insurance company, but a membership plan that offers wellness benefits. Members must go to Banfield pet hospitals, which are located within PetSmart stores throughout the United States.

There are several different plans available for dogs and cats, including one that includes a spay or neuter service. There is a one-time signup fee and monthly payments that start at $12.95.

Rip off, clueless vet, so disappointed!

I love my dog so much, she means the world to me and my family! So disappointed of Ban field, for the tremendously rip off, they saw me an innocent dog owner crying, and charged me $300 for a needle exam to see if my dogs tumors were cancer! The vet was clueless, called me a few days ago saying she simply didn't know and its inconclusive, also was not knowledgeable about the smytpoms of cancer! worst experience! Banfield midtown miami worst location!

Do Not Recommend!!!
I asked to cancel the plan and they continued to bill me. When I called again to follow up, they said they could only refund 2 out of 4 months- I had not used it as I believed it to be cancelled. They feel this is fair since auto renewal is "consented to" in the tiny print of the agreement. This "automatic renewal" has to be consented to in order to buy the plan. They make it a huge inconvenience to call and cancel (30 minutes on hold). Then they say they "don't give refunds." This is blatant dishonesty that they justify by their "Terms and Conditions." Paying for no service is honest? The phone rep said she felt this is ethical. And by the way, the teeth cleaning traumatized my Golden terribly. She hasn't been the same since. Since when is charging for no services rendered honest?

Cancelled my wellness plab in October, they have been charging my account ever since. They said that I never called to cancel even though they have record of the call! Refunded a month but not the past 8 months! Basically, called me a liar because rhey never would have said that it was cancelled if it wasn't!
