1/10   The company will pay you nothing!!!, 10/24/2016

Reviewed By: Ivan Smirnov, Recommend: N

For 8 years I paid them more than $4000 and when my dog got a surgery that was covered as it is written in the policy, they paid back nothing saying that it could be preventable!
We spent $6000 for the surgery and I claimed for a maximum of $2000, but got nothing. Ad it took 2 months.
If I just put the money to my pocket I'd save much more!
Terrible company, useless spend of money!

10/10   24hr Petwatch is the one!, 10/5/2016

Reviewed By: Robbert, Recommend: Y

After a lot of research decided this was the one to go for. Unfortunately my dog has developed an issue, but 24hr Petwatch has been great! I submitted a pre-approval form to make sure they would be able to assist. Just received my insurance check! It does take a bit of time, but that is expected. They need to go thru their claim process. Every phone call I made was answered quick and was handled professionally. The new customer portal is a great enhancement too.
Very Happy!!

1/10   slow/no pay, 9/28/2016

Reviewed By: carl marazzo, Recommend: N

had this insurance for nearly 4 years - started out fine. this year became impossible. Our dog had a chronic problem, diagnosed when he was 9 months old. We had been submitting same bill every few months when suddenly 24HR wasn't receiving the form from the vet, or the info from the vet wasn't complete, they couldn't read the signature or see the diagnosis or the bill submitted didn't show it had been paid! Or they just didn't receive the information/fax at all! Always something and many phone calls to finally get the payment. Seemed their philosophy became "If we ignore or resist you long enough you'll just go away, keep on paying the premium and we can keep the money."

1/10   $100+ a month premium increase!!, 9/23/2016

Reviewed By: RR owner, Recommend: N

Unfortunately ended up with this horrible company because Purinacare pet insurance sold out to them. I should of left then. But will def. be leaving now that they sent me a notice that my $70 monthly premium is going up to $170 a month! Besides that, they say they have 60 days to pay out for claims. And if I don't hear back from them in 50 days, do give them a call. omg, really?

1/10   Good Insurance Gone Terribly BAD!!!, 9/18/2016

Reviewed By: Anonymous, Recommend: N

Like so many others, I originally purchased this insurance when it was Purina. When Purina was administering the policy claims were promptly processed hassle free. As soon as 24PetWatch took over things started going bad and have continued in an ever increasing velocity to become truly a nightmare. You now have to spend enormous amounts of your time following up on every claim. Claims are often lost and must be resubmitted, sometimes multiple times. Claims that previously had been promptly paid are now initially denied. Following up on denied claims is difficult. Telephoning requires long hold times with frequent disconnects. If you do eventually get someone to answer they cannot help you and tell you that someone will call you back. They never do. If you ask to speak to a supervisor they tell you none is available and to call back later. Emails frequently go unanswered or the replies are not helpful. Claims processing times have gone from under 30 days to over 90 days. Premiums continue to increase. Thankfully my pet is a very healthy 3 years old and has no preexisting conditions, my only claims have been wellness related (vaccinations, annual exams, and flea/tick medications), so it was an easy decision for me to dump 24PetWatch and go with another insurer.

7/10   Not Great, but worth the money,
I've had my dog insured with this company for 4 years and plan to renew again. They rarely pay the full 80% because their "usual and customary expenses" are pretty conservative, but even at the more typical 60% that I receive it has been worthwhile. Customer service was initially poor but has been very good for the past year. They have been very strict about the rules concerning exclusions, pre-existing… read more

5/10   Existing conditions suddenly appear ,
We received three months of PetCare insurance when we adopted our dog three and a half years ago. After the three months were up we renewed the policy. At some point however, my husband was issued a new credit card and somehow the monthly PetCare fees did not transfer over. We discovered we were uninsured just when we actually needed the insurance. PetCare *very nicely* offered to issue a new policy if we… read more

5/10   Just OK,
I have had the 70% Quickcare Gold coverage for 2 years for both my dogs. While my first dog has had a pretty decent reimbursment rate for allergies, she has almost maxed out her coverage in this catagory (where she needs it the most). Beware, the max coverage ($3,000 per catagory)amounts DO NOT renew annually. Now with my 2nd dog, he ingested a bee (I would call it an accident)and had a horrible bout of… read more

2/10   DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!!!,
Our dog needed TPLO surgery and this company denied him because when he was 6 months old he had growing pains which all Saint Bernards have. He is 7 years old and tore his ACL in a slip/fall. This comapny had the audacity to say that it was a pre-existing condition from when he was 6 montsh old. How can tearing your ACL in the knee be pre-existing? He fell! They want to pay for the shots and regular… read more
