4/10   still waiting for the bank to accept the check, 7/12/2014

Reviewed By: Janice McCalla, Recommend: N

I have the Level 3 insurance for my two cats, have paid premiums since 2011 and have not had to use it until this May 2014. I had over a $3000 bill with the emergency vet. It took a month to get the claim processed then another 2 weeks to get the check. Then when I presented the check to my bank, Wells Fargo to deposit, the bank won't accept the check and tells me it is a fraudlent check. So it is under investigation. Phone calls the 24 pet insurance are useless and I'm still out $5000 between premiums I have paid and the check that Wells Fargo won't accept. Not good.

5/10   Pre-Existing Condition for New Adoptee, 7/10/2014

Reviewed By: JaneMacArthur, Recommend: N

I received the 24 Hour Pet Watch Gift Insurance for a newly adopted puppy. Two days later I brought her into the vet for mites, an ear infection and urinary incontinence. I extended the policy since these were conditions that were going to take repeated visits before she was better. She had symptoms of all three in the days before going to the vet. The mites and ear infection claims were paid. The incontinence/UTI were denied on the basis of pre-existing condition. If the Gift Policy is give by the adoption group so that any conditions are covered when you adopt your new pet, it is extremely diappointing to have the insurance company decide which are pre-existing and which are not. Obviously, the most expensive condition was. Needless to say, I will be cancelling coverage immediately.

1/10   Terrible customer service, 7/9/2014

Reviewed By: Rose, Recommend: N

I have been so disappointed with this company. I had a procedure pre-approved and scheduled. I submitted the claim May 6th. Today is July 9th and still no reimbursement. I've gotten mixed reasons for this, the pre-approval was different from the procedure, then it was processed, then the check was mailed in June. Also, I wait an average of 15 minutes to get through every time I call. I will NOT be renewing with them.

9/10   no problem service, 7/7/2014

Reviewed By: Charles Gray, Recommend: Y

We have filed three claIms with 24PetWatch and have received the reimbursement for the covered items without any problems. I have read the negative reviews but have nto experienced any problems with the company. It is pet major med coverage NOT for each visit to the vet. Only problem is that the checks are set from Canada which adds about a week to the reimbursement process.

1/10   PET INSURANCE RIP OFF, 7/2/2014

Reviewed By: Bob , Recommend: N

We got a shepherd / collie from the Columbia county humane society and with it we got a one month free insurance policy. When we picked up the dog we were told it had kennel cuff ,but about 3 days later it began cuffing and blowing phlegm out its nose and acted very down and lacked energy. I took it to our vet and he gave me antibiotics . Help some but ended up getting ex rays and a state lab test done. More drugs and after 3 weeks of pills he is back to good health. Be fore we started all this I called 24 pet watch and Was told I should take out their full coverage policy and any problems would be covered. Well just received notice that they will not pay for any of this as it was not covered. It cost me 34.00 to find out what kind of RIP OFF company this is, and now they wont call back to allow canceling the policy. I have closed the credit card to stop them from taking more money for canceled policy. DO NOT get caught in their scam !

7/10   Not Great, but worth the money,
I've had my dog insured with this company for 4 years and plan to renew again. They rarely pay the full 80% because their "usual and customary expenses" are pretty conservative, but even at the more typical 60% that I receive it has been worthwhile. Customer service was initially poor but has been very good for the past year. They have been very strict about the rules concerning exclusions, pre-existing… read more

5/10   Existing conditions suddenly appear ,
We received three months of PetCare insurance when we adopted our dog three and a half years ago. After the three months were up we renewed the policy. At some point however, my husband was issued a new credit card and somehow the monthly PetCare fees did not transfer over. We discovered we were uninsured just when we actually needed the insurance. PetCare *very nicely* offered to issue a new policy if we… read more

5/10   Just OK,
I have had the 70% Quickcare Gold coverage for 2 years for both my dogs. While my first dog has had a pretty decent reimbursment rate for allergies, she has almost maxed out her coverage in this catagory (where she needs it the most). Beware, the max coverage ($3,000 per catagory)amounts DO NOT renew annually. Now with my 2nd dog, he ingested a bee (I would call it an accident)and had a horrible bout of… read more

2/10   DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!!!,
Our dog needed TPLO surgery and this company denied him because when he was 6 months old he had growing pains which all Saint Bernards have. He is 7 years old and tore his ACL in a slip/fall. This comapny had the audacity to say that it was a pre-existing condition from when he was 6 montsh old. How can tearing your ACL in the knee be pre-existing? He fell! They want to pay for the shots and regular… read more
