1/10   Not worth it, 8/20/2014

Paid for preventative coverage for my dog. When my payment info changed they cancelled my policy and notified me after the cx date so by the time I was notified and attempted to update the info it was too late and none of my claims were covered. Not worth paying into the insurance for over a year to have a zero percent return and no customer service! When I called they only offered to transfer me to the sales dept to start a new policy - yeah right!

10/10   Fast review of claim, great customer service , 8/12/2014

I bought a rare pure breed blue Great Dane in Nov. 2013 and shopped around for insurance. Some quotes were over $100/month, and even over $200/month which wasn't even full coverage. I compared them with Pet Health Inc./24 Pet Watch and it was a no brainer, I currently pay $60/month for unlimited accidents and illness and I also have up to $500/yr for "wellness" which covers any vaccines, check-ups, and even his neutering. So simple math = $60x12 months = $720 - $500 (wellness) = $220/year. So for a rare pure breed great Dane I'm getting an extremely awesome deal from what else is out there.

I made my first claim (for neutering) July 14/14 and I received an email stating they received my claim. The same day they contacted me again saying that my vet didn't fax over the medical records so I had my vet do so. I also received a letter in the mail stating they needed my medical records. If they didn't do that, I would have never known my vet didn't fax them the records. I called the 1-800 line just to see how long it would take and I had other questions. The 1-800 number had about 9 calls in front of mine so I just left my # and they called me back instead of me waiting on hold. Thought that was great. About the end of July I got a letter saying my claimed is being finalized and I should be getting a cheque shortly. I received my cheque on Aug 10th, less than 1 month from the day I filed the claim. Great work, I'm one happy customer, it was fast, GREAT communication and no pr

4/10   still waiting for the bank to accept the check, 7/12/2014

Reviewed By: Janice McCalla, Recommend: N

I have the Level 3 insurance for my two cats, have paid premiums since 2011 and have not had to use it until this May 2014. I had over a $3000 bill with the emergency vet. It took a month to get the claim processed then another 2 weeks to get the check. Then when I presented the check to my bank, Wells Fargo to deposit, the bank won't accept the check and tells me it is a fraudlent check. So it is under investigation. Phone calls the 24 pet insurance are useless and I'm still out $5000 between premiums I have paid and the check that Wells Fargo won't accept. Not good.

5/10   Pre-Existing Condition for New Adoptee, 7/10/2014

Reviewed By: JaneMacArthur, Recommend: N

I received the 24 Hour Pet Watch Gift Insurance for a newly adopted puppy. Two days later I brought her into the vet for mites, an ear infection and urinary incontinence. I extended the policy since these were conditions that were going to take repeated visits before she was better. She had symptoms of all three in the days before going to the vet. The mites and ear infection claims were paid. The incontinence/UTI were denied on the basis of pre-existing condition. If the Gift Policy is give by the adoption group so that any conditions are covered when you adopt your new pet, it is extremely diappointing to have the insurance company decide which are pre-existing and which are not. Obviously, the most expensive condition was. Needless to say, I will be cancelling coverage immediately.

1/10   Terrible customer service, 7/9/2014

Reviewed By: Rose, Recommend: N

I have been so disappointed with this company. I had a procedure pre-approved and scheduled. I submitted the claim May 6th. Today is July 9th and still no reimbursement. I've gotten mixed reasons for this, the pre-approval was different from the procedure, then it was processed, then the check was mailed in June. Also, I wait an average of 15 minutes to get through every time I call. I will NOT be renewing with them.

7/10   Not Great, but worth the money,
I've had my dog insured with this company for 4 years and plan to renew again. They rarely pay the full 80% because their "usual and customary expenses" are pretty conservative, but even at the more typical 60% that I receive it has been worthwhile. Customer service was initially poor but has been very good for the past year. They have been very strict about the rules concerning exclusions, pre-existing… read more

5/10   Existing conditions suddenly appear ,
We received three months of PetCare insurance when we adopted our dog three and a half years ago. After the three months were up we renewed the policy. At some point however, my husband was issued a new credit card and somehow the monthly PetCare fees did not transfer over. We discovered we were uninsured just when we actually needed the insurance. PetCare *very nicely* offered to issue a new policy if we… read more

5/10   Just OK,
I have had the 70% Quickcare Gold coverage for 2 years for both my dogs. While my first dog has had a pretty decent reimbursment rate for allergies, she has almost maxed out her coverage in this catagory (where she needs it the most). Beware, the max coverage ($3,000 per catagory)amounts DO NOT renew annually. Now with my 2nd dog, he ingested a bee (I would call it an accident)and had a horrible bout of… read more

2/10   DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!!!,
Our dog needed TPLO surgery and this company denied him because when he was 6 months old he had growing pains which all Saint Bernards have. He is 7 years old and tore his ACL in a slip/fall. This comapny had the audacity to say that it was a pre-existing condition from when he was 6 montsh old. How can tearing your ACL in the knee be pre-existing? He fell! They want to pay for the shots and regular… read more
